Harvest Involved in Rising Cry for Election Prayer

Dave Butts, Harvest Prayer Ministries founder and chairman of
America's National Prayer Committee, is at the forefront of leading the charge to rally believers and churches to pray for our elections. Many ministries and ministry leaders are raising a cry for believers of every stripe to pray for 40 days prior to the elections (September 28 - November 6). A website,
www.40daysofprayer.net has recently been set up by Harvest to provide information, prayer guides, and links to other ministries that are sponsoring prayer efforts or resources for these 40 days.
The challenge is not to pray for a specific candidate, but simply to have 24-7 prayer for our nation during that time. We are beyond political solutions for our nation, but we are desperate for God's intervention. We are challenging people to pray God's purposes for our nation, revival in the church, and to pray that America would return to God.
Churches are being encouraged to get involved. Many will have 24-7 prayer rooms during this period or still others will enlist their people for 24-7 prayer in 30-minute slots for a week or a day during this 40-day period. The idea is that each day will see thousands of churches and hundreds of thousands of believers lifting up our nation during this time.
Please consider how you and your church can get involved. Go to
40daysofprayer.net for information, to
purchase or
download the
2012 Election Prayer Guide, written by Dave Butts, or enlist your congregation to pray for 40 days. A new 40-day prayer initiative,
Desperate for Change: 40 Days of Prayer for America, will be released September 1st.
Prayer and financial supporters of Harvest Prayer Ministries have the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping the prayer movement in a very special way through Harvest's involvement in leading prayer on behalf of the nation.
If you would like to see Harvest continue to provide this leadership and expand its ministry to churches across this nation, a financial gift would be a huge blessing. We are currently seeking funding for two projects related to this effort--$6,000 to fund the development and printing of
Desperate for Change, and $15,000 for a mailing to 29,000 churches in August. To donate,
